We'll tell you when quartz is the wrong choice.
Engineered quartz is excellent indoors and a poor choice on an uncovered patio — the resin that binds it can yellow and break down under sustained UV, and most manufacturers exclude outdoor use from their warranty. For Pompano terraces we specify granite or porcelain. It's a smaller sale sometimes. It's also the honest answer.

We try not to use trade language, but a few terms are hard to avoid. None of them are complicated.
- Templating
- The measuring visit. We laser-measure your actual cabinets so the stone fits exactly, because no kitchen is perfectly square.
- Fabrication
- Cutting and finishing your stone in our workshop. It is the part that happens between measuring you and turning up to fit it.
- Undermount sink
- A sink fitted underneath the stone, so there is no metal rim on top and you can wipe crumbs straight in.
- Waterfall
- When the stone carries on down the side of an island to the floor, instead of stopping at the edge.

What countertop is best for an outdoor kitchen in Florida?
Granite or porcelain. Both hold colour under constant UV and handle heat near a grill. We generally advise against engineered quartz outdoors — the resin binder can yellow in sustained sun, and most quartz warranties specifically exclude outdoor installation.
Does salt air damage stone countertops?
Not the stone itself. Salt is much harder on metal — hinges, fasteners, and appliance fronts. We use appropriate fixings on outdoor installs and recommend sealing natural stone annually, which is a ten-minute job you can do yourself.
Can you schedule around a seasonal stay?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Tell us your arrival date and we'll aim to template and install before you're in the unit, so you're not living around a construction crew.
Do you build the cabinet base for an outdoor kitchen too?
We fabricate and install the stone. If the base isn't built yet we'll tell you the dimensions and overhangs we need, and we're happy to coordinate directly with your contractor.
